MedPack Insurance Involvement
How to enable Insurance Involvement and marking relevant MedPacks

Overview
We’ve introduced new insurance-related validations across the Program Application and MedPack pages.
These updates ensure:
- Accurate documentation
- Clear visibility of insurance involvement
- Improved compliance across all patient records
Getting Started
To enable these new features, you will first have to take a trip to your Patient's Program Application, specifically in the Financial Eligibility section (Step 4).

- Simply select the patient’s insurance situation
- Upon selection, if Insurance is involved, a new field will display, asking you to confirm whether Insurance will be involved in any of the Patient's MedPacks
- If you select "Yes", and then "Save", a new set of insurance-related validations will be triggered in Step 6 and Patient Medicine.
- If you select "No" and then "Save", no further changes will be applied.
Patient Documents (Step 6)
Once the mandatory insurance fields are completed, make sure to upload the required insurance documents in Step 6 – Patient Documents to complete the process.
These include:
- The Insurance Calculation and
- Policy Document to complete the process.

Patient Medicine
For Patient Medicine, the key item is a checkbox titled "This MedPack has insurance involvement" available for MedPacks acquired via Paid or Voucher,

If you try to save without checking this checkbox, PMS will display a modal asking you to confirm that Insurance has no involvement in the MedPack.

For MedPacks with the "This MedPack has insurance involvement" checkbox enabled, the following changes are now live:
- Coverage Amount & Percentage fields: allowing you to enter the amount covered by insurance.

- and PMS will calculate the percentage covered automatically.
- Additionally, MedPacks with Insurance Involvement saved, will now display a Shield Icon next to the MedPack Code.
