What are MedPacks?
What is the exact definition of a MedPack.
A "MedPack" identifies the total amount of medication a Patient will collect per cycle and per financial scheme, regardless of the actual number of boxes.
In the PMS treatment plans, what you see are MedPacks. These differentiate the various “acquisition methods” or “schemes” in each cycle. They in turn contain several units, or “composition.” The number of packs is determined in the MEDICINE tab, in each MedPack. Each MedPack has a composition in which we can enter the number of vials distributed to the patient.
In the Program Settings, multiple packaging can be added, as needed (e.g., Cosentyx 150mg and 300mg).
There are 2 options then:
-
When it comes to Best Practice, you should use the MedPacks and the units interchangeably, by assuming 1 MedPack = 1 unit.
-
In this case, for example, if 2 FOC doses are distributed to the patient in a single cycle, then 2 MedPacks will appear in MEDICINE, and 2 MRLs will be generated
-
-
Alternatively, you can use the MedPacks as they were designed and enter the correct composition (number of units x the packaging you need). This optimizes the admin work by grouping everything by MedPack.
In both cases, the stats will generate the number of MedPacks and number of units in each MedPack and by packaging.
